Manda Krishna Madiga Meets CM Revanth Reddy, Discusses SC Classification Report
Hyderabad, Feb 11 (Maxim News): MRPS founder Manda Krishna Madiga met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to discuss the classification of Scheduled Castes (SCs).
Recently, the Justice Shamim Akhtar Commission, which was set up to study SC classification, submitted its report to the government.
Concerns Over the Report
During the meeting, Manda Krishna Madiga pointed out several issues in the report and urged the CM to review them again. He explained the problems faced by different SC sub-castes and how the classification process could be improved.
In response, CM Revanth Reddy assured him that the issue was already discussed in the Assembly. He said the government formed a Cabinet sub-committee, consulted a legal commission, and took a decision carefully to avoid legal problems.
Revanth Reddy also reminded Manda Krishna that he had fought for SC classification in the Assembly even as an opposition MLA. He suggested that any further concerns should be taken to the Cabinet sub-committee and the review commission.
