MANUU Celebrates Independence Day

Hyderabad: Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today unfurled the tricolour at University campus on the 77th Independence Day celebrated as part of Har Ghar Tiranga programme under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.

Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Proctor accompanied the Vice-Chancellor.

Prof. Ainul Hasan in his Independence Day message while referring to the famous lines by Allama Iqbal ‘Sare Jahan se Accha …’ said that our country is the best because it demonstrated before the world that freedom can be achieved through Non-violence. Indian freedom movement encompassed patience, sacrifices and non-violence. Gopal Krishna Ghokhale, whom Mahatma Gandhi considered his mentor, advised him to think differently for India’s Independence and Gandhiji adopted the path of non-violence. Prof. Hasan also highlighted Satyagraha, Jallianwala Bagh, Non-cooperation movement as turning points of freedom movement. He advised the youth to remember our freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the sake of future generations and to follow their paths of Non-violence .

Students presented National Anthem and patriotic songs on the occasion under the supervision of Cultural Coordinator, Mr. Meraj Ahmad, Prof. Karan Singh Utwal, Dr. Mohd. Muzaffar Hussain, and Dr. Shaikh Wasim Pathan.

Earlier, MANUU Sub-Unit NCC cadets & Proctorial team escorted Prof. Ainul Hasan and participated in the parade. The cadets were carrying SLRs provided by NCC Unit. Hawaldar Chandra Mohan from One Telangana Artillery Battery NCC Unit represented the Unit in the ceremony. MANUU Sub-Unit NCC cadets also presented guard of honour.

Prof. Mohammad Fariyad, Dean, School of MCJ convened the programme and proposed vote of thanks. The programme was organized by the organizing committee under the supervision of the chairperson, Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Khan. Instructional Media Centre of MANUU live streamed the programme on IMC MANUU youtube channel.

Large number of faculty members, officers and other staff also attended the programme.
