MANUU Film Festival To Host C2F2 And KidzCINEMA Editions

The MANUU Film Festival will bring international children’s and world cinema to Hyderabad as Maulana Azad National Urdu University prepares to host the special editions of C2F2 and KidzCINEMA Film Festival. The three day event will take place from January 1 to January 3, 2026. The Instructional Media Centre is organising the festival in association with Culture Cinema Film Festival and KidzCINEMA Film Festival.
The festival aims to offer students and film lovers a cultural and educational experience through cinema. It will feature a carefully curated selection of films from more than ten countries. These films focus on children’s cinema as well as global storytelling traditions. Therefore, the event is expected to attract students, faculty members, and cinephiles from across the city.
According to Mr. Rizwan Ahamd, Director IMC and Festival Director, the inaugural function will be held at 11 am at the IMC Preview Theatre on the MANUU campus in Hyderabad. He stated that Mr. Praveen Nagda, Director of C2F2 and KidzCINEMA, will attend the event as the Guest of Honour. Meanwhile, Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, will also grace the inaugural session, adding academic presence to the festival.
The opening film of the MANUU Film Festival will be The Adventures of Princess Mirabilis from Angola. This screening will mark the start of three days of international cinema. Later, the festival will present films from a wide range of countries. These include Angola, Belgium, Brazil, China, France, India, Indonesia, Iran, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, and Spain. As a result, audiences will be exposed to diverse cultures, themes, and cinematic styles.
All film screenings during the MANUU Film Festival are free of cost. However, entry is limited to students, faculty members, and film enthusiasts with a valid photo identity card. Entry will be allowed on a first come first serve basis. Also, the organisers have confirmed that Mr. Mohammed Mujahid Ali, Producer Grade I at IMC, is the Festival Convener for the event. The university expects the festival to strengthen film appreciation and cultural exchange among young audiences.
