Marwari Go Back: Traders Call for Telangana Bandh on Friday
Marwari Go Back | Hyderabad, August 21: Telangana is witnessing heightened tension as several traders and organizations have announced a statewide bandh on Friday, August 22.
The call comes amid an ongoing campaign where slogans such as “Marwari Go Back” have been raised in various parts of the state.
The Osmania University Joint Action Committee has alleged that certain traders from Gujarat and Rajasthan have been mistreating local shopkeepers and the public. In protest, OU JAC Chairman Kothapalli Tirupati announced that he is calling for a Telangana bandh to express their opposition.

Several trade associations and civil society groups across the state, including those in Warangal and Nalgonda districts, have extended support to the bandh and announced their participation. Many commercial establishments in these regions are expected to remain closed.
Meanwhile, Marwari traders have approached Telangana DGP Jitendra Reddy, stating that they are being targeted with hate speech and false allegations. They have urged the authorities to take strict action against those spreading such propaganda.
