Mastercard to Open its Hyderabad Office, Strengthens Fintech Presence
Hyderabad, Jan. 21 (Maxim News): Global payments major Mastercard to open its new office in Hyderabad, further strengthening the city’s position as a key hub for fintech and BFSI sectors.
The announcement was made by Mastercard CEO Michael Miebach on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Miebach said Hyderabad’s growing digital ecosystem and India’s focus on cybersecurity made the city a strategic choice.
Michael noted that India is emerging as one of the world’s largest digital economies. Michael added that Mastercard is expanding its AI Garage in Hyderabad, reaffirming its long term commitment to the country.
Speaking to a news channel, Miebach said global investments are rising in the digital economy and cybersecurity sectors.
Michael stated that despite concerns over tariffs and geopolitical tensions, the global economy recorded 3.2 percent GDP growth in 2025.
Miebach attributed this resilience to lessons learned during the Covid 19 pandemic and the development of stronger regional supply chains.
Miebach added that consumers are now more cautious and informed. They are increasingly using loyalty programs and price comparison platforms before making spending decisions.
The launch of the Hyderabad office will add to the city’s growing list of global financial and technology firms setting up operations. (Maxim News)
