MaxiVision Holds Free Retinal Screening Camps
Hyderabad, Nov.14 (Maxim News): Hyderabad-based MaxiVision Super Specialty Eye hospital organized free Retinal checkup camps to diabetic patients today on the occasion of World diabetes Day. Diabetic patients in huge numbers participated in camps conducted in all branch hospitals of MaxiVision in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Viskhapatnam.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudheer – COO, Maxi Vision hospitals group said, that World Diabetes Day is observed every year to create awareness on health issues affecting with diabetes. Vision defects develop with uncontrolled diabetes as the age grows. Ultimately it leads for vision loss. As per American academy of ophthalmology, there are 93 million people across globe suffering from Diabetic Retinopathy. Blood Glucose, Duration of Diabetes, Hypertension, Blood lipids etc are the risk factors of Diabetic Retinopathy.
There is a need for social and healthcare organizations to come together and create mass awareness on the issue and extend assistance to those poor and helpless senior citizens who lacks care from family to address their health issues. MaxiVision Super Specialty Eye Hospital took up the initiative to educate diabetic patients on the importance of eye checkups to check mate the problem in its initial stages. It conducted free Retina checkups in Madhapur, Somajiguda, Begumpet, AS Rao nagar, Santosh nagar, Kukatpally branch hospitals in Hyderabad apart from Vizag and Vijayawada on the occasion.(Maxim News)
