Mayawati condemns CBI raids on Prannoy Roy’s house

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati today condemned the action of CBI raids at the office and house of NDTV chief Prannoy Roy and said that it was a case of open misuse of government machinery driven by political vendetta.

In a statement here, the BSP president said the Modi government at the Centre can give any explanation as it deems fit in support of their action.Ms Mayawati has alleged that the Modi government wants NDTV to surrender before them and accused it of threatening the owners and reporters of their well-being.

The government wants to terrorise the journalists who reports against the Central government, she said.The BSP president said that she is in support of the news channel’s fight for freedom of media.
