Hyderabad, Dec.31 (Maxim News): Congress senior leader and MLC T. Jeevan Reddy today said the mid-Manair project had been delayed by three years. He also alleged that the bund of the project leaked due to technical faults.
Addressing mediapersons at Karimnagar, Jeevan Reddy said undoubtedly the mid-Manair project was a great project and the State government had an opportunity to fill the LMD through Flood flow canal. Referring to the statement of the CM that 80 lakh acres would be irrigated through Kaleswaram project, he said it would require 800 tmc of water to irrigate the 80 lakh acres.
Reddy, however, made it clear that the Kaleswaram project would irrigate 18 lakh acres in the state. He alleged that the State government had not listened to their suggestion to fill the LMD dam with SRSP project by spending just Rs 60 crore. He mocked the Chief Minister if he considered the loan burden of Rs 2.40 lakh crore as the development of the State. (Maxim News)
