Hyderabad: The closing ceremony of the 1500th celebration of the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ blessed birth was held at the City Convention Centre in Nampally on August 8.
The event featured the Milad Awards, organised under the aegis of the Central Milad Juloos Committee, Hyderabad. Distinguished personalities from education, healthcare, journalism, literature, oratory, Imamat, guardianship and social service were honoured.
Respected Ulema, Mashaaikh and dignitaries presented the awards to the recipients during the ceremony.
Milad Awards honour achievers from different fields
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Syed Shaikhan Ahmed Qadri Shattari, Kamil Pasha, President of the Central Milad Juloos Committee, said the blessed Milad of the Holy Prophet ﷺ holds the highest significance for Muslims.
He said the committee initiated the Milad Awards to recognise individuals who have made notable contributions in different fields of society.
Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Muzaffar Hussain Khan Banda Nawazi, Convener of the Central Milad Juloos Committee, highlighted the importance of following the teachings and commandments of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
He also said the committee organises the annual Milad Juloos in Hyderabad, which attracts hundreds of thousands of devotees. He added that special arrangements are being planned for this year’s procession.
Among the notable award recipients were Maulana Dr. Syed Rizwan Pasha Qadri Laubali, Maulana Syed Baba Mohiuddin Noorullah Qadri Rahmat Baba, Maulana Hafiz Syed Abrar Ahmed Hussaini Sohrawardi, Maulana Syed Abdul Muhaimin Qadri Sajjad Pasha and Maulana Dr. Syed Khalilullah Owais Bukhari.
Several other scholars, religious personalities, doctors, journalists, advocates, social workers and public representatives were also honoured.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Qari Anees Ahmed. Qari Shafi Shareef presented Naat Shareef.
Maulana Dr. Khwaja Shah Muhammad Shujauddin Ifteqari Haqqani Pasha conducted the proceedings, while Maulana Syed Khadir Mohiuddin Qadri, Junaid Pasha Zareen Kulah and Secretary of the Central Milad Juloos Committee delivered the vote of thanks.
Maulana Sheikh Fareeduddin Zahed Chishti Karimi supervised the arrangements for the programme.
Several members of the Central Milad Juloos Committee and other dignitaries attended the Milad Awards ceremony.
The event concluded with tributes to the contributions of the award recipients and preparations for the upcoming Milad Juloos in Hyderabad.
