MIM’s ex-corporator Khaja Bilal Joins Congress
Hyderabad, Jan 2 (Maxim News): MIM senior leader and ex-corporator Khaja Bilal Ahmed, along with his hundreds of supporters, formally joined the Congress party on Tuesday. Greater Hyderabad Minorities Department chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail introduced the ex-MIM leaders to the PCC President.
Other eminent personalities including Prof. Siddhant Kumar Chowdhary, Anna Gloria Chowdhary (former principal of Narayana Group of Institutions), M. Sagar Chowdhary and Sham Sunder Gupta also joined the Congress party today.
AICC Secretary (Telangana Incharge) R.C. Khuntia, ex-PCC President V. Hanumantha Rao, Leader of Opposition in Council Shabbir Ali, ex-union minister Sarve Satyanarayana and other senior leaders were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, would form the next government both at the Centre and in Telangana State. He said that the Congress party would always ensure security and welfare of minorities.
Uttam Kumar Reddy accused the TRS Government of neglecting Old City and asked as to why Metro Rail works were not started in the Old City despite completion of 40 months in power. He said that the entry of Khaja Bilal and other leaders would strengthen the party further.
R.C. Khuntia, in his speech, alleged that the MIM was helping BJP win elections through polarisation and division of secular votes. He said only Congress party could ensure secularism and therefore, people from various walks of lives were joining the party. (Maxim News)
