Minimum Infrastructure To Be Provided At Polling Stations: Ronald Rose

Hyderabad, October 25: District Election Officer, GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose said that Returning Officers should establish minimum infrastructure in the polling stations under their jurisdiction. A review meeting was held with the Returning Officers along with Deputy DEO Anudeep Durishetti on Wednesday at the GHMC headquarters.

On this occasion, Hyderabad District Election Officer Ronald Rose said…Returning officers should provide minimum infrastructure facilities such as ramps, drinking water, toilets, etc. in all the polling centers under their jurisdiction. At each polling station, parking facilities should be identified in government and private places. Col. said. The Election Commission said that measures should be taken to set up auxiliary polling centers in the polling centers if the number of voters exceeds the prescribed number in each polling center. He said that information slips should be distributed to every house as soon as possible. He said that the voter information slip will contain the information of the voter’s electoral serial number, polling date, polling station, and time. In the light of allegations that voter slips were distributed by political leaders to every house through BLOs, the Atty ordered the ARs to take strict action against the BLOs. He said that it will be provided. He said that the route map should be made and included in Google Maps so that the voters can reach their polling center easily.

Claims and objections should be completed expeditiously in every polling station, he said. The BLO said that the ASD (Absent, Shifted, Death) lists should be collected by the assembly constituencies and the returning officers should provide the information to the agents of the political parties. He said that on the day of polling, when the voter who is on the ASD list comes to the polling station, they should check the correct documents and provide the right to vote in the background and record such details separately. He said that the phone numbers of every voter should be collected so that brief information will be given to them through SMS to exercise their vote. Gu
He said that the facility of voting at home through Form-12D has been provided to the elderly and disabled persons above 80 years of age in the elections. He said that a special day will be reserved for the polling staff and those performing other duties. He said that voter assistant booths should be set up in the polling centers to clear the doubts of the voters. The returning officers said that necessary repairs should be done by the sectoral officers in the distribution and reception centers allotted to them. He said that he should have a full understanding of DEMP (District Election Management Plan).
