Minister KTR distorted Revanth Reddy’s statement to conceal power scam: Rohin Reddy

Hyderabad, July 11:  Khairtabad District Congress Committee (DCC) President Dr. Ch. Rohin Reddy has raised serious allegations against the BRS Government, accusing it of being involved in a massive scam under the guise of providing 24-hour free power to farmers.

In a media statement on Tuesday, Dr. Rohin Reddy criticized Minister K. Tarakarama Rao‘s response to the revelations made by TPCC President A Revanth Reddy about the lack of 24-hour electricity supply to farmers. He likened KTR’s reaction to that of a thief caught in the act of stealing.

Dr. Rohin Reddy, who is accompanying the TPCC President on the US Tour, dismissed KTR’s allegations as “ridiculous but not surprising,” emphasizing that KTR’s position as a minister was due to his lineage rather than his knowledge or skills. He reminded KTR that it was actually the Congress party that had initiated the provision of free power to the agricultural sector in 2004, which continued until 2014. He further alleged that problems such as disruptions and erratic power supply to farmers started only after TRS came into power.

According to Dr. Rohin Reddy, the BRS Government, in collusion with private power companies, orchestrated a massive scam under the pretext of providing a 24-hour power supply. He pointed out that the Congress party had clearly outlined its commitment to providing 24-hour free quality power to farmers in the Rythu Declaration announced by Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, in May 2022 at Warangal. Therefore, he argued that the baseless allegations made by habitual liars like KTR and other BRS leaders should not be trusted.

Challenging Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, Minister KTR, or any minister from the BRS Government, Dr. Rohin Reddy questioned why they were unwilling to accept the Congress party’s challenge to identify a single village receiving uninterrupted 24-hour electricity for agricultural purposes. He asserted that the claim of a 24-hour power supply to farmers was false and that the BRS leaders had engaged in a scam worth several hundred crores by making such fraudulent promises.

Dr. Rohin Reddy emphasized that the Congress party possessed substantial evidence of corruption behind the so-called 24-hour electricity promise and vowed to take action against all those involved in the scam once they assumed power.Dr. Rohin Reddy accused Minister KTR of distorting Revanth Reddy’s statement solely to conceal the failures of the BRS Government. (Maxim News)
