Minister Rathod Instructs Officials On Medaram Jathara
Hyderabad, Jan.23 (Maxim News): Ahead of famous Medaram Festival beginning on February 5 Tribal welfare minister Satyavati Rathod said officials concerned to ensure it is conducted on a grand note by making it plastic- free and providing improved facilities.
She held a review meeting at Sankshema Bhavan here. She has taken a look at invitations to be offered to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, other leaders and guests.
Make the festival a branding, make Medaram tribal festival plastic free, ensure use of cloth bags to remove plastic ones, she said. The KCR Government has provided Rs. 75 crore for the festival, provide better facilities by competing remaining works.
The minister has asked to conduct huge publicity in Hyderabad and combined Warangal district on Medaram tribal festival. Rathod favoured for providing improved facilities to be in place. The Tribal festival known as Telangana Kunbhamela will be continued for four days till February 8, she said. Sammakka and Saralamma festival in Medaram in previous Warangal district.
National and states leaders will be invited for the tribal festival and explain of the Importance of the jathara. About 1.5 crores of devotees and people are expected to flock the site from districts and states.
Sathyavati Rathod said that the state government has urged the centre to get national status to the ancient festival.
The officials made necessary arrangements for the festival. They include better roads, power supply, drinking water, traffic regulation parking, shopping huts, 7000 rooms 8700 toilets, 700 taps. (Maxim News)
