Minister Sitakka Meets Governor To Approve Mulugu Municipality Bill
Hyderabad, Sept 24 (Maxim News): Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Sitakka met Governor Jishnudev Varma at Raj Bhavan today. On this occasion, Sitakka submitted a partition to the Governor to give his approval to the bill passed by the Assembly in 2022 converting Mulugu Gram Panchayat into a Municipality.

It may be recalled that the Mulugu Municipality Bill remained pending due to technical complications. Due to the mistakes of the previous government, the municipality has not seen the situation. The previous government included the issue of Mulugu Municipality in the Telangana Municipal Act Amendment Bill. The previous government proposed amendments to the GHMC Act in the same bill. With this, the Mulugu Municipality Bill has become a mess. The then government passed the bill in 2022 amid confusion among members.
In this background of legal and technical issues, the bill was sent to the President for approval by the former Governor Tamilisai Sopundararajan. Due to this, the Mulugu Municipality Bill remained pending. In this order, Minister Sitakka. who handed over the details of the bill to the Governor, and appealed to give the seal of approval to the bill giving the status of municipality to Mulugu.
