Minister Takes Part In Workshop On Traditional Martial Art Form For Women
Hyderabad, Dec.22 (Maxim News): Minister for Tourism and Sports Srinivas Goud today participated in the workshop on “Karra-Saamu”, a traditional martial art form for girls and women, on the premises of Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium on Sunday.
Speaking to the media later, Srinivas Goud said the workshop on the traditional martial art form was timely and essential for the girls and women to defend themselves from the sex maniacs. He appreciated organizer Sridhar for conducting the workshop to teach the women about the techniques of self-defence.
The Department of Language, Art and Culture, is organizing a 45-day free workshop. The workshop was being conducted under the guidance of Akula Sridhar, Ph.D in Katte Samu. Pointing out sexual assaults on girls and women by maniacs now-a-days, Sridhar said generally people think that weaker sex cannot do anything and remain helpless when they are attacked. The notion is wrong and the women can defend themselves from the “beasts” if they take courage and learn techniques to teach criminals a fitting lesson, he added. (Maxim News)
