“One of the most compelling aspects of our governance is our relentless focus on the welfare of the poor,” Uttam Kumar Reddy proclaimed. He spotlighted the Indiramma Housing Scheme and the Mahalakshmi Gas Subsidy Scheme as flagship programs that reflect the government’s commitment to uplifting the economically disadvantaged. “Under the Indiramma Housing Scheme, we are not just planning; we are building – 450,000 houses are under construction, with 3,500 allocated per constituency. We are turning dreams into reality, ensuring every poor individual in the state has the chance to own a home,” he asserted.

He delivered a pointed critique of the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre, contrasting its policies with those of the Congress government. “While the BJP increased cooking gas prices from Rs 400 in 2014 to over Rs 1200 in 2024, the Congress government in Telangana is standing by the poor, providing cooking gas at a subsidised rate of Rs 500 per cylinder. In Suryapet district alone, nearly 148,000 individuals have benefited. This is not just a subsidy; it’s a lifeline,” he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy emphasised that the government’s commitment to welfare is evident in its targeted interventions, such as the Gruha Jyoti Scheme, which provides free electricity to consumers using up to 200 units. “We are ensuring that basic amenities like electricity are not a luxury but a right for every citizen. This is governance that truly serves the people,” he affirmed.

Speaking about the Congress government’s long-term vision for Telangana, Uttam Kumar Reddy highlighted the Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme, which now offers corporate-level healthcare to the poor with increased coverage from Rs 500,000 to Rs 10 lakh. “This is more than healthcare—it’s a safety net for our most vulnerable citizens. We are not just treating illnesses; we are securing the future of our people,” he declared.
