Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy Slams BJP
Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Tuesday launched a blistering attack on BJP and its leaders in the State for unnecessarily criticizing the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who is striving hard for the overall development of the State.
Speaking after welcoming activists from BJP, Congress and BSP into TRS at Velpur in Nizamabad district, he said it was the Chief Minister who constructed Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS), which is world’s largest lift irrigation scheme, to meet the requirements of irrigation sector.
Since the Chief Minister was becoming more popular after completion of KLIS, the BJP leaders were making unnecessary remarks against the Chief Minister. “We have maintained patience till now and from onwards we will also reply in a fitting manner to the BJP leaders,” he said.
TRS was “Srirama raksha” (divine protection) for Telangana, he said, explaining various development works completed in the district.
The Central government failed to fulfill the promises made in AP Re-organization Act and did not sanction Tribal University and Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) till now. Apart from failing to give Rs.3,000 crore GST dues to the State, the Centre was treating Telangana as an enemy.
It sanctioned 150 medical colleges to other States but not a single college was given to Telangana. The BJP was behaving like Andhra rulers, who did grave injustice to Telangana. Taking strong exception to the remarks of BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind alleging that TRS MLA A Jeevan Reddy was behind the attack on him, Reddy said the TRS leaders did have time to attack other parties leaders.
“We are only focusing on the development works in the district,” he said, alleging that the BJP MP failed to take up development works in the district. Even after three years, Arvind failed to get a turmeric board in the district. Referring to the unemployment issue, Reddy said the State government filled 1.32 lakh vacant posts. “We will explain about the number of vacancies filled up in the State. Can the BJP or the Prime Minister Narendra Modi come forward to explain the number of jobs provided by the Central government?” he asked.
He alleged that Modi was hatching a conspiracy to sell LIC, Railways, BSNL and Visaka Steel Plant to industrialists.
