MLAs Defection Case: Hearing In Supreme Court On Nov 14

Hyderabad, Nov 10 (Maxim News): It is known that the Speaker’s office has sought more time from the Supreme Court to hear the case of the defected Telangana MLAs. On the 25th of last month, the Telangana Assembly Secretary filed a petititon in the Supreme Court. The petition will be heard in the Supreme Court on November 14.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has given the Speaker a 3 month deadline to take a decision on the disqualification of the defected MLAs. The 3month deadline expired on October 31. However, the Speaker’s Office filed a petition in the Supreme Court before the deadline expired, demanding more time as the explanations and inquiries regarding the defected MLAs are ongoing.

The Supreme Court Chief Justice’s bench is likely to hear the case. The case has been listed for November 14. It will be known on November 14 whether the Supreme Court will give more time as requested by the Speaker’s office, or whether it will reprimand him for not taking a decision on disqualification within the deadline.  (Maxim News)
