MLC Polls: Jamiatul Ulema Announces Support For Ramulu Naik
Hyderabad, March 5 (Maxim News): Jamiatul Ulema-e-Hind Telangana & Andhra Pradesh President & ex-MLC Hafez Peer Shabbir on Friday announced support for Congress candidate Sabavath Ramulu Naik in the MLC Polls for Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates constituency.
The decision was announced after Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Minorities Department Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail and Ramulu Naik, along with other senior Congress leaders, met Hafez Peer Shabbir at the latter’s residence in Amberpet.
Speaking on the occasion, Hafez Peer Shabbir said that Ramulu Naik was an efficient, honest and hard working person. “We were together in the Telangana Legislative Council as Congress MLCs,” he recalled.
Announcing his support to Ramulu Naik’s candidature he appealed to the Graduates to vote his favour. He said Ramulu Naik belongs to the Scheduled Tribes (ST) community which is in minority. He said all minorities should support Ramulu Naik to ensure empowerment of minorities in politics.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Sohail informed that Ramulu Naik and another Congress candidate G. Chinna Reddy from Hyderabad-Rangareddy- Mahabubnagar Graduates constituency were receiving tremendous response in their respective constituencies. He said all sections, especially the minorities, were supporting the Congress candidates as both TRS and BJP Governments were pursuing anti-minority policies. He appealed to all the voters to ensure 100% polling in the MLC elections.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramulu Naik said that he belongs to a poor family and understands the problems being faced by a common man. Stating that he was a first generation politician, he said he had no money or muscle power to influence the voters. “I’m approaching the voters with an honest commitment that I would serve them in the best possible manner if they elect me as MLC,” he said.
