Moderate to Heavy Rains Lash Telangana, Temperatures Drop Sharply

Hyderabad: Moderate to heavy rains lashed Telangana over the past 24 hours, bringing a sharp fall in daytime temperatures across the State. While Hyderabad witnessed moderate rainfall, several districts recorded heavy showers.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum daytime temperature in Hyderabad is expected to range between 22°C and 24°C on Monday. The mercury has dropped considerably from around 33°C recorded just a few days ago due to persistent cloud cover and widespread rainfall.

Metpalle records highest rainfall in Telangana

In the Greater Hyderabad region, Kistareddypet in Ameenpur recorded the highest rainfall at 45.3 mm.

Among the districts, Metpalle in Jagtial received the highest rainfall of 77.8 mm, followed by the Sangareddy Collectorate area with 71.8 mm and Shankerpalle in Rangareddy district with 70.8 mm.

Other significant rainfall recorded in the Hyderabad metropolitan region included Ramachandrapuram (BHEL) with 44.8 mm, Hayathnagar with 38 mm, Patancheru Tahsildar Office with 37.8 mm, and the MMTS Lingampally Station area with 36.8 mm.

The widespread rainfall has brought much-needed relief from recent warm weather, with cloudy conditions expected to keep temperatures below normal over the next few days.
