‘Mother of Satan’ Found In Delhi Car Bomb Investigation

  • Forensic teams suspect TATP use in Red Fort car blasts
  • Agencies probe terror links, three arrested with explosives

The investigation into the recent car bomb explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort has revealed alarming details about the type of explosive material used. Forensic teams have indicated that the chemical found in the car may be Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP), infamously known as the “Mother of Satan” for its extreme volatility and destructive power. The blast occurred on November 10 and has since become the focus of a major counter-terror operation.

According to officials, the explosive in question does not require detonators like ammonium nitrate to trigger an explosion. Forensic experts explained that TATP can detonate automatically when exposed to high heat or friction, making it highly unstable during transport. Investigators believe that the suspected terrorist, identified as Umar, was aware of TATP’s nature but still drove the car through crowded areas, endangering many lives.

The use of TATP has previously been detected in several international terror attacks, including the 2015 Paris bombings, the 2016 Brussels blasts, and the 2017 Manchester concert bombing. Agencies are now investigating whether Umar received the explosive from foreign terrorist organizations or if he synthesized it domestically. Officials also said that the probe will look into how Umar sourced the necessary chemicals and who assisted him in making or obtaining the material.

Meanwhile, police have arrested three individuals identified as Shaheen Saeed, Mazammil Shakeel, and Adil Rather, who are believed to be close associates of Umar. Investigators seized nearly 3,000 kilograms of explosive material from their homes. The discovery suggests a broader terror network operating behind the Red Fort car blast, raising concerns about potential future threats.

Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of international involvement in the supply chain of the “Mother of Satan” explosive. The ongoing investigation is being coordinated with national intelligence agencies to trace any external links connected to the Delhi attack.
