Mr. A. K. Khan IPS Addresses students at MANUU

Hyderabad: In compliance with the UGC guidelines, the Office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare (DSW), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), is conducting the Deeksharambh: Student Induction Programme (SIP) for the new students from 05th to 10th September.

Focusing on SAGE: Socializing, Associating, Governing, and Experiencing the SIP includes a plethora of activities to familiarize the students with the university and its various facilities.

Mr. A. K. Khan (IPS), the Advisor to the Chief Minister, Telangana delivered an inspirational talk on “The Art of Goal Setting” on 8th September. He discussed the importance of a goal in life, the prerequisites for goal setting, and how to “right size” the goal along the way. After his highly motivational presentation, he patiently responded to many questions from the young students. He advised students to have a command over the English language and promised to visit the Civil Services Coaching Academy, MANUU, to address the concerns and queries of the aspirants.

Dr. Anita Sable, Head, Department of Law, Symbiosis College, Hyderabad, delivered a highly informative talk on the topic, “Gender and Law.” She discussed gender specific problems, rule of law, reasons to have laws, and gender-based violence, in detail. She also highlighted the problems of the transgender and male harassment; and shared valuable information about gender based crimes and steps taken by the government to bring gender equality.

Prof. Sk. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar; and Prof. Alim Ashraf Jaisi, Dean Students’ Welfare, also addressed.

Dr. Khwaja M. Ziyauddin, Assistant Dean Students’ Welfare, and the Chairperson of the SIP Committee delivered the welcome address and proposed vote of thanks.

Earlier, The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, welcomed all the new students to MANUU and gave them valuable suggestions as regards academics and discipline in the inaugural session held on 5th September, 2023. The Vice-Chancellor called the youngest students to the stage to introduce themselves and encouraged all to work hard. He emphasized the importance of struggle in life and wished them all the best during their study and stay at MANUU. Prof. Sk. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar; Prof. Shagufta Shaheen, Officer on Special Duty- I; Professor Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, Officer on Special Duty- II; Prof. Alim Ashraf Jaisi, Dean, Students’ Welfare; and Prof. M. Vanaja, Director, Directorate of Admissions.

Prof. Mohammed Abul Sami Siddiqui, Joint Dean, Students’ Welfare conducted the proceedings.Dr. Khwaja M. Ziyauddin, Assistant Dean Students’ Welfare, and the Chairperson of the SIP Committee, offered a vote of thanks.
