Governor greets nation on the eve of 74th Republic Day

Hyderabad, Aug.19 (Maxim News): Telangana Governor and Pondicherry Lieutenant Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan today extended greetings to Muslim community in the state. In a press communiqué, the governor said that –“Muharram symbolizes the spirit of sacrifice.

She said that the spirit of sacrifice is placed above all the virtues of mankind.

The Governor said that Muharram commemorates the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad’s Grand Son Hazrat Imam Hussain, who sacrificed his life at the altar of true belief.

Tamilisai Soundararajan said that remembrance of goodness and sacrifice are the two true meanings of Muharram. Let us emulate the spirit of Muharram which embodies humanism the central idea of Islam, she exhorted.

The ideals of equality, truth, fairness, sacrifice, peace and justice that symbolise the Muharram may continue to inspire us, the Governor added. (Maxim News)
