The two leaders held a detailed meeting for about an hour in the Assembly and discussed several crucial aspects linked to the municipal elections.

During the meeting, the focus remained on the selection of candidates for wards in municipalities and divisions in municipal corporations.

The leaders also reviewed steps needed to ensure electoral success and discussed the overall conduct of the elections.

According to the decisions taken, the Congress intends to follow a strict and transparent process in finalising candidates across the state.

Therefore, the party leadership resolved to handle ward and division-level candidate selection in a highly disciplined manner.

As part of this process, the party decided to invite six candidate proposals from each ward and division. After receiving these names, the party plans to conduct a survey to identify the most suitable candidates.

Later, the shortlisted names will be sent to the District Congress Committees and the TPCC. The final list of candidates will then be announced by the party leadership.

Meanwhile, leaders believe this method will help strengthen the party at the grassroots level ahead of the municipal elections.

The meeting between Revanth Reddy and Mahesh Kumar Goud also focused on winning a majority of seats in the municipal elections.

Both leaders agreed that the party must take all possible steps to achieve this goal. In this context, they discussed the agenda for the extended TPCC executive meeting scheduled to be held on the 8th at Gandhi Bhavan.

Agenda items for this meeting are expected to play a key role in shaping the party’s election campaign.

During the discussions, the leaders also spoke about agitation programmes against the Centre. They alleged that the Central government had deliberately scrapped the Mahatma Gandhi employment guarantee scheme and discussed plans to protest the renaming of the scheme.

These issues are likely to feature prominently in the party’s campaign narrative during the municipal elections.

Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy and Mahesh Kumar Goud also reviewed the recent PowerPoint presentation prepared by the state government on Krishna and Godavari river waters.

Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that the presentation had provided useful and clear information to the public.
