Munugodu by-poll: High-voltage election campaign ends

Hyderabad, Nov.1 (NSS): The high-voltage election campaign for Munugodu by-poll came to end on Tuesday.

With three major political parties-TRS, Congress and BJP considering the Munugodu by-election as a semi-final to 2023 Assembly elections, the constituency has witnessed the high voltage campaign during the last one month and it has become a do-or-die situation for all the parties.

The by-poll will be held from 7 AM to 6 PM on November 3. A total of 47 candidates are in the fray. While the ruling TRS party has fielded Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy as its candidate, former MLA Rajagopal Reddy is contesting on BJP ticket and Palvai Sravanthi is testing her luck on behalf of the Congress party.

According to officials, a total of 2,41,855 voters, including 50 service and 5,685 postal votes in Munugodu Assembly constituency.

On the security front, a total of 3,366 State police personnel and 15 Central para military forces were deployed in the constituency. On other hand, 100 check-posts were erected at various places across the constituency. (NSS)
