Musi Rejuvenation project gets cabinet sub committee
Musi Rejuvenation project | Hyderabad, March 28: The Telangana government has taken a key step to speed up the Musi Rejuvenation project.
Accordingly, it formed a cabinet sub committee with three ministers. This panel will monitor planning, coordination, and execution. Therefore, officials expect faster progress.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao issued GO No. 406. Through this order, the government formalised the committee. Meanwhile, the government wants close monitoring. It also wants better coordination between departments.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka will lead the committee as chairman.
Moreover, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu will serve as a member. Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar will also serve as a member. In addition, the MRDCL Managing Director will act as convener.
Musi Rejuvenation project committee duties explained
The committee will provide policy guidance for Musi river revival. It will also focus on sewage management. At the same time, it will review flood control plans.
Furthermore, it will guide riverfront development works.
The panel will also improve coordination between departments. Besides this, it will review project progress regularly. It will also take decisions on land acquisition. Similarly, it will review rehabilitation and funding matters. As a result, officials expect smoother execution.
The committee will also monitor timelines. Therefore, it will ensure the project finishes on schedule. Meanwhile, district collectors of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal Malkajgiri will attend meetings when required.
In addition, the GHMC Commissioner will join meetings when needed. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board Managing Director will also participate. Thus, the government aims to improve coordination at every level.
Overall, the government believes this committee will accelerate the Musi Rejuvenation project. At the same time, it expects better supervision. Therefore, this project remains a major priority for the state.
