NABARD gives Rs 164.43 cr aid to AP for community health centers
Hyderabad, Feb.12 (Maxim News): The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 164.43 crore under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF XXIV) as loan assistance for construction of one Health Centre and Upgrading of 30 Community Health Centers in 12 Districts in Andhra Pradesh.
The sanctioned projects are expected to benefit 1,631 villages by providing improved infrastructure at the health centers in 12 Districts of the State. The assistance also includes provision of 990 additional beds to the health centers. Facilities for new 30-bed CHC and additional facilities for 30 to 50-bed CHCs would include Surgical Clinic, Anti-Retroviral Therapy Centre, PPTC Room (Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission of HIV), Meeting Hall, Electrical Room, Rajeev Arogya Room, Blood Storage Room, Ambulance Shed, Paramedical Staff Room, Mortuary, Sanitation Staff Room, New Born Sterilization Unit, Surgical Ward, Ayush Room, Ophthalmic OP and Laundry. Besides, the hospitals will also include an Intensive Care Unit, ENT, Dermatology, Orthopaedic and Psychiatry Units, as well as medical equipments. The total support under RIDF to AP government during the current financial year has gone up to Rs.1,235.21 crore, said K. Suresh Kumar, CGM, NABARD, in a statement here. (Maxim News)
