Nalgonda Municipal chairperson’s Husband Boddupalli Srinivas Murdered
Nalgonda: Boddupalli Srinivas,(45) husband of Nalgonda Municipal Chairperson was killed by unidentified persons at Gandhinagar, barely a hundred yards away from his house in the wee hours of Wednesday, police said.
Srinivas left home around midnight saying that there was some problem outside. Police suspect that he was chased and beaten to death following a dispute near a roadside eatery.
Some persons reportedly chased Srinivas from Alpha College to near Hanuman temple in Gandhinagar and hurled huge boulder on his head killing him on the spot.
Preliminary investigations revealed that he had received a call from one of his followers and left home. A quarrel reportedly taken place at a road mirchi bandi, which was run by an known offender. Srinivas, it was said, was also accused in some criminal cases.
Sources said, police picked up five persons for questioning in connection with the murder.
Nalgonda Superintendent of Police DV Srinivas and Deputy Superintendent of Police S Sudhakar were visited the spot and inquired about the incident.
The body of Srinivas was shifted to district hospital for postmortem.
Deputy leader of Congress Legislature Party, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Congress workers began a demonstration at the clock tower in the town, demanding the immediate arrest of the killers of Srinivas.
