Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today urged the Union government to reduce the taxes and contain petrol/diesel prices which is skyrocketed.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Narayanasamy said the Centre should stop exploitation of people through indirect taxes. He said now the petrol price is Rs 73 a litre and diesel Rs 61.
During the UPA regime the price of one barrel of crude oil was 108 dollars and presently it is 54 dollars .The UPA government never enhanced the petrol/diesel price this much, he said adding that the price is more by 20 folds that the UPA fixed price.
