NCC Directorate Andhra Pradesh and Telangana started its Cadets training for the upcoming Republic Day Parade
Secunderabad, 20 Nov 2023: A 10-day Training Camp has commenced at Army Garrison Mehdipatnam to shortlist suitable cadets from Andhra Pradesh & Telangana to represent the NCC contingent of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Directorate for Republic Day at New Delhi.
This 10-day camp started on 18 Nov 2023 to provide an opportunity to 164 Boys & 128 Girls from various schools and colleges of both states to showcase their talent on a national platform.
To impart on-ground training with better Infrastructure for the cadets, the selection training camp is taking place at the Military Garrison, Mehdipatnam.
Cadets will be selected to take part in numerous activities at Republic Day Camp, New Delhi including Marching by Girl Cadets on Kartavya Path, Guard of Honour, Cultural Programmes & selection of all India Best NCC Cadets. Cadets for Youth exchange programmes to various countries will also be selected from this contingent as representatives of Bharat.
Air Commodore VM Reddy, Deputy Director General stated that intense training would be carried out in this first Training Camp and a deep selection of Cadets would be carried out to shortlist 128 NCC Cadets to represent AP & Telangana Directorate. The selected Cadets would undergo further rigorous training at Artillery Centre Mehdipatnam from 06th to 25th December. He also stated that these cadets are like Ambassadors of the two states and all-out efforts would be made to ensure that the AP & Telangana Team stands on the top among the 17 Directorates from the entire country that would be participating in the Republic Day Camp. He was confident that the Team from AP & Telangana which stood in 16th position out of 17 in Republic Day Camp 2023 would rise to the top position in the forthcoming Republic Day Camp at New Delhi. He also stated that the 75th NCC Day would be celebrated on 26th November at Mehdipatnam Garrison with pomp and show.
