He addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday night.  He said that when we talk about rights, we also need to deal with serious issues like terrorism.  He said that the incident of killing innocent tourists in Pahalgam in April this year is the latest example of cross-border terrorism.

“India has been facing this challenge from a neighboring country that has become the epicenter of global terrorism since the day of independence.  All the major international terrorist organisations operate from that one country.  All those who have been designated as terrorists by the UN are from that country.” Jaishankar said.  He said that in the wake of the Pahalgam atrocity.  india has exercised its right to protect its people from terrorismk and has brought the terrorist organizations and the culprits to justice.

He said that cooperation between the world’s countries is very necessary in the fight against it as terrorism is a common threat.  When countries openly declare terrorism as their policy, when terrorist centers operate on an industrial scale, and when terrorists are openly glorified, the world should condemn it unequivocally.  We must stop funding terrorism, he urged.
