NEP Reflects Global Educational Trends, Says Prof. Bala Kishta Reddy at National Multidisciplinary Conference in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, July 3 (Maxim News): Chairman of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Prof. Bala Kishta Reddy, emphasized that the National Education Policy (NEP) has been designed in tune with the rapid global changes in education and society. He was speaking at the valedictory session of the two-day national conference on “Multidisciplinary Dialogue and Discourse in Arts and Social Sciences” held at Osmania University’s Arts College.
Highlighting the multidisciplinary focus of the NEP, Prof. Reddy said,
“Every issue in society must be understood from multiple dimensions. Only then can we elevate the quality of education and life. The NEP incorporates a forward-thinking, interdisciplinary approach that aligns with global academic standards.”
He urged educators to design new-age curricula that address the vast advancements in science, technology, and the humanities, citing his own successful experiments as a professor.
Multidisciplinary Approach Enhances Research: ICSSR
Prof. B. Sudhakar Reddy, Director of ICSSR, also addressed the gathering, underscoring the importance of multidisciplinary platforms.
“Such seminars enhance students’ understanding and promote meaningful research. ICSSR is committed to encouraging research across disciplines, and we invite scholars to apply for our minor and major research projects,” he said.
Arts College Hosts Historic Academic Gathering
The conference, a first-of-its-kind multidisciplinary event in the history of Osmania University’s Arts College, was attended by more than 600 participants, including scholars, faculty, students, and researchers from across the country.
Arts College Principal Prof. C. Kasim, who presided over the event, shared that 19 out of 20 invited scholars successfully presented their research papers, contributing to the success of the conference.
“This event has expanded the academic horizons of our students by exposing them to diverse perspectives beyond their core disciplines,” Prof. Kasim remarked.
Dignitaries and Scholars Laud the Initiative
Prof. Syed Talat Sultana, Dean of Arts at Osmania University, praised the initiative and encouraged more such knowledge-sharing platforms in the future. Prof. Lavanya (UGC Dean) and Prof. C. Aruna Jyoti (Dean, Social Sciences) also participated in the event.
Key contributors included Dr. Konda Nageswara Rao, Dr. Balu Nayak, Dr. P. Swathi, Dr. C.S. Swathi, and a host of department heads, researchers, and students who ensured the smooth execution of the event.
Renowned scholars such as Prof. Sushant Kumar Mishra, Prof. Adapa Satyanarayana, Prof. G. Srinivas Reddy, Prof. Ramesha, Prof. Gampa Venkatramaiah, and others presented on a variety of subjects, enriching the academic dialogue.
