New Municipal Chairpersons Told About Their Role In Discharging Duties

Hyderabad, Feb.6 (Maxim News): Telangana State Finance Commission organized first “Orientation Program for newly elected Chairpersons of Municipal Corporations” on the premises of Institution of Engineers (India), Khairatabad. The newly elected Chairpersons comprise women, doctors, Engineers, Educationists and senior politicians.

The program was aimed at enlightening the newly elected Chairpersons about their role in discharging their duties more effectively. G. Rajesham Goud, Chairman, Telangana State Finance Commission, M. Chennaiah, Member, N. Satyanarayana, CDMA,. Pankaja, IAS, Asst.Director, CDMA and Dr G. Rameshwar Rao, Chairman, IEI, TSC spoke.

Rajesham Goud was felicitated by the newly elected Chairperson. Goud explained about the role of Municipal Chairperson in discharging their duties more effectively. Besides other important issues such as – devolution of funds, clean and green, he emphasized more on drinking water. In this connection, he spoke at length about the invaluable services rendered by Dr G. Rameshwar Rao, when he was Director, HMWSS in speedy implementation of Major Irrigation Projects / Drinking Water Supply Projects – such as “Mission Bhagiratha, Kaleswara”. He also recapitulated Dr Rameshwar Rao’s significant role in bringing Godavari and Krishna waters to the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

N. Satyanarayana, CDMA, exhorted the Municipal Chairperson to work hard and realize the ambitions and aspirations of the people. He explained about the pains taken by the Chief Minister and Minister concerned in formulating the guidelines in Municipal Administration. He appealed to the participants to work hand in hand in serving the society.

Dr Rameshwar Rao explained the role of The Institution of Engineers India in shaping the society by effectively using Technology for furtherance of the lives of mankind. He said the Institution has introduced 15 Engineering disciplines such as Electrical, Electronics, Environmental Sciences etc. He also explained the Institution of Engineers’ India role in speedy implementation of Mission Bhagiratha, Kaleswaram and Metro Rail Projects. He advised the newly elected Chairpersons to compulsorily visit schools, which would stand as testimony in the nation building.

Pankaja, IAS, Asst. Director, CDMA, spoke about duties and responsibilities, generation of revenue and so on by the newly elected Chairperson. M. Chennaiah, Member, State Finance Commission spoke about the functioning of the Finance Commission.

The participant Chairpersons include Putta Sailaja, Mantani, Bhoga Sravani – Jagityala, Manjula, Vikarabad, Rudraraju, Kothapalli, Takkallapalli Rajeswara Rao, Jammikunta, RNC Rajamouli, Gajwal, Narsimulu, Mahaboobnagar, Kapu Sita Lakshmi, Kothagudem, Satyam, Kalvakurti, Dammalapati Venkateswara Rao, Archana, Chennur, Veeranna, Dornakal, Jamuna, Janagon, Sushma Mahendar Reddy, Shamshabad and so on.
