Ninth Leg of Freemasons ‘Gift-a-livelihood’ Announced

Hyderabad: Talented but poor petty traders, street vendors, and self-employed who cannot afford to buy tools, or implements to discharge their professional responsibilities may apply before 18th November. 

The beneficiaries (women who work from home, petty traders, street vendors, and self-employed) need to share on WhatsApp number 9848042020 their photograph, Aadhar Card, name, address, mobile number, name and description of the tool or tools, machinery and one reference with mobile number.  It is requested not to call on the phone; they need to just send WhatsApp only.  

The free distribution will take place for 50 eligible people on 24th November in Hyderabad.  The 9th leg of the Gift-a-livelihood initiative is scheduled on the occasion of Grand Festival 2023, the first-ever annual congregation of Freemasonry in Telugu states in the 62 years history of the Grand Lodge of India, the apex body of Freemasons in India.  

50 identified beneficiaries will be provided tools worth around Rs 6000/- to 7000/- each of their choice to carry forward their chosen profession.  Be it iron boxes (istri pette), sewing machines, utensils for tiffin centres, drilling, welding machines, cutters, for electricians, carpenters, plumbers, tools for scooter mechanics, push carts for street vendors, stationary material, bangles for stores etc were given away.  The idea is to help poor and small-time professionals, women who want to carry out some activities from home so that they will earn a better and more sustainable living.

Ninth Leg of Freemasons 'Gift-a-livelihood' Announced

Mr Anish Kumar Sharma, OSM (Order of Service to the Masonry, the highest recognition Grand Lodge of India accords to any masons in India), the Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India who is the head of Freemasonry in India will be the Chief Guest.  Mr TN Manoharan, the Regional Grand Master, Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India, and the head of Freemasonry in South India will be the guest of honour.  They will give away the tools to the beneficiaries.

The best gift one can ever give to any is Gift-a-livelihood, which is a novel initiative of Freemasons.  It helps those people who are talented and hard-working but lack the right tools for the job.  So that they can earn a better and more sustainable living.

The initiative launched during the Corona to help people regain their lost livelihood, has impacted 730 lives of Women with sewing machines, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, welders, painters, and people who do ironing with the right tools, so far through its 8 legs of the initiative

Gift-a-livelihood is an initiative of Freemasons in Telangana is a highly successful one and and it being replicated by Freemasons across 150 towns.

Individuals, organizations, and philanthropists may join hands.
