Hyderabad, Feb.6 (Maxim News): Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy appealed to Centre to increase quota of Red Gram purchase from State. He wrote a letter to the Centre urging it to increase the quota of red gram as there was more production in the State.
Stating that the State expects to get 2.7 lakh metric tons of red gram, the minister appealed to the Centre to allow 56 lakh metric tons of red gram for purchase in addition to 47.5 metric tons. Procurement of the farm produce will help farmers, he added.
Civil Supplies Chairman M Srinivas Reddy said they have procured 47 lakh tons of farm produce this time as against 41 lakh metric tons. (Maxim News)
