Hyderabad: A Nizamabad bus accident on National Highway 44 claimed four lives early on Friday when a private travel bus lost control and fell on the roadside near Gannavaram. The incident occurred close to the Indalwai toll plaza in Nizamabad district.

According to reports, about 22 passengers were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident. The bus was heading towards Akola in Maharashtra from Hyderabad when the mishap occurred.

The accident took place in the early hours when the private travel bus reached Gannavaram near the Indalwai toll plaza on National Highway 44. Reports said the bus suddenly lost control and fell on the roadside.

As a result of the impact, four persons died on the spot. Meanwhile, several other passengers sustained grievous injuries in the crash. The incident caused panic among the passengers who were travelling in the vehicle.

Soon after receiving information about the accident, police personnel rushed to the spot. Authorities then began rescue efforts and attended to the injured passengers.

Police shift injured passengers to Nizamabad hospital

The injured passengers were later shifted to the Government General Hospital in Nizamabad for treatment. Medical staff began providing care to those who sustained injuries in the accident.

Meanwhile, officials continued their response at the accident site. Police gathered information about the incident and started initial procedures related to the case.

The private travel bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Akola in Maharashtra when the accident occurred. The crash happened near the Indalwai toll plaza on National Highway 44, an important highway route in the region.

Authorities have not yet released further details about the victims. Reports said that the accident caused the immediate death of four passengers, while several others suffered injuries.
