On the other hand, Kavita’s counsel argued that there was no need for an extension of custody and the ED had not added any new elements. However, if she comes out, there is a possibility of tampering with the evidence, and the progress of the case will also be affected, by the lawyer for the ED and the CBI special court. However, since the day of the arrest, they have been alleging that the evidence will be tampered with, and Kavitha’s lawyer Rana has objected that nothing new has been said.
In this order, the ED handed over the progress of the case investigation to the court. Moreover, the ED told the court on the occasion that they would submit the charge sheet on Kavitha’s arrest within 60 days. As a result, the CBI special court has given orders to extend the judicial custody till May 7.

The Enforcement Directorate illegally arrested her on March 15 in the liquor scam and Kavita filed a petition in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court to grant her bail. Special judge Kaveri Baveja will hear arguments on this petition shortly.
Arguments were held on this petition on Monday. While the ED argued that she had deleted the data on the digital phones, Kavita’s counsel argued that there was no such thing. the lawyer on behalf of ED argued that no data could be found in the phones given by Kavita, there was no data because the phones were formatted, and her phones were formatted intentionally. However, Kavita’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi argued that they did not destroy any evidence. He brought to the notice of the court that among the phones given to the ED, there were also the phones given by her to the workers. At that time, the lawyer for the ED brought to the attention of the judge that Kavitha had voluntarily given the phones to the ED, but there was no data in them, it is noteworthy that Judge Kaveri Baweja mainly answered questions on the destruction of digital evidence in this order.
