No Traffic On Durgam Cheruvu Bridge On Weekends, Says Sajjanar
Vehicular movement would be closed on the bridge on weekends, from Friday 10 pm to Monday 6 am.
Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has said vehicular movement would not be permitted on the newly inaugurated Durgam Cheruvu cable-stayed bridge on weekends in view of public safety. Visitors would however be allowed on foot.
Speaking at a coordination meeting with representatives of various departments and wings including the GHMC, Irrigation, Fire and Traffic here on Thursday, Sajjanar said a large number of people were visiting the cable bridge every day. Apart from crowd management issues, there could also be safety issues, he said, asking officers concerned to take necessary precautionary measures to avoid any untoward incident.
Vehicular movement would be closed on the bridge on weekends, from Friday 10 pm to Monday 6 am.
Officials said multiple parking areas were being identified on both sides of the bridge by the Cyberabad Traffic Police and Hyderabad Traffic Police in coordination with the GHMC.
As the visitors are coming majorly on two sides of the bridge (ITC Kohinoor side and Road No 45 side), multiple parking areas were identified on both sides in coordination with GHMC and TSIIC.
Our sincere appeal to all the visitors of #DurgamCheruvuCableBridge not to come on to traffic lane… Please be in walk way… Be responsible and be safe… and also don’t jump over the railing and don’t do extremes for pics and selfies…
