Excise officials seized 136 bottles of non-duty paid liquor during inspections near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. The seizures took place at Shamshabad and Pahadishareef on Friday, December 26, 2025. The action followed coordinated checks by excise and police teams in areas close to the airport.

Officials said the inspections focused on curbing the movement of non-duty paid liquor. During the operation, the Shamshabad District Task Force seized 45 bottles. Excise Superintendent Krishnapriya confirmed that the raids were carried out jointly. Teams from the District Task Force worked along with personnel from the Shamshabad and Serilingampally police stations. Therefore, the operation involved close coordination among multiple enforcement agencies.

Meanwhile, parallel inspections were conducted in the same region. During these checks, four State Task Force teams, along with excise station staff, seized an additional 91 bottles of non-duty paid liquor. Officials said the seizures took place during routine inspections aimed at monitoring illegal transport and sale of liquor. The combined seizures brought the total number of bottles recovered to 136.

The areas near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport often remain under surveillance due to movement of goods and passengers. Therefore, excise officials regularly conduct inspections to prevent illegal liquor trade. In this case, teams checked multiple points in Shamshabad and Pahadishareef. Later, officials confirmed that the seized liquor did not have duty clearance.

Further investigation is underway to identify the source of the liquor. Officials are also working to trace those involved in transporting it. However, authorities have not shared additional details at this stage. They said the investigation will focus on supply routes and possible networks operating in the area.

The seizure highlights continued enforcement efforts by excise and police departments. Officials said such inspections will continue in the coming days. Meanwhile, they urged strict compliance with liquor regulations. The case remains under investigation, and officials are expected to take action based on the findings.
