Nooruddin Owaisi Files Nomination as Backup Candidate for Chandrayangutta

Hyderabad, November 8 : Hyderabad’s Old City election has taken an interesting turn with the nomination filed by Dr. Nooruddin Owaisi, son of AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, from the Chandrayangutta constituency. The decision has caused a stir among political observers.

On Wednesday, November 8, the father-son duo, along with a few associates, submitted their nominations to the returning officer at the Chandrayangutta constituency office.

As the news of Akbaruddin’s nomination spread, media personnel discovered two names listed in the official press release issued by the election authorities. It turned out that both had filed their nominations as AIMIM candidates. Soon after, Nooruddin’s affidavit was circulated widely in the media.

It is to mention here that it is a common practice for candidates to have a backup nominee in case their nomination is rejected for any reason. In such cases, the backup candidate, who is affiliated with the political party or the leading candidate, stands in the election. Similarly, AIMIM has nominated Dr. Nooruddin Owaisi as a backup candidate to Akbar Owaisi.

According to election rules, a candidate can only be declared official after submitting the B-form before the withdrawal deadline, which is November 15 for the Telangana elections.

The AIMIM has yet to announce its official candidate for Bahadurpura. Political observers believe that the picture will become clearer once the Bahadurpura candidate is revealed.
