Hyderabad: Osmania University College of Engineering witnessed protests on Wednesday, March 18, over scholarship issues. The Osmania University protests drew attention to pending fee reimbursement and scholarship dues, with student activists raising strong demands.

BRSV activists staged the protest and demanded the immediate release of pending payments. They raised slogans during the demonstration. They also accused the government of neglecting the education sector. Moreover, they alleged that financial support to students is being delayed.

BRSV activists warn of Assembly siege over dues

During the Osmania University protests, activists issued a clear warning to the government. They said they would lay siege to the State Assembly if the pending scholarship and fee reimbursement dues are not cleared. This warning highlighted growing dissatisfaction among students over financial issues.

BRSV State Secretary K Jangaiah made a key demand during the protest. He said, “At least 20 percent of the state budget must be allocated to education during the ongoing Assembly session”. His statement stressed the need for higher funding for the education sector.

Meanwhile, several BRSV activists took part in the protest. Those present included Kompelli Naresh, Srikanth Mudiraj, Nagendra Rao, Pawan Devansh, Vignesh, Sunitha, Bhavya Sri, and Maheshwari. Their participation reflected collective concern over unresolved student issues.

The Osmania University protests focused on delays in scholarship disbursal and fee reimbursement. Students said these delays are affecting their education. Therefore, they urged the government to act quickly and resolve the issue without further delay.
