A separate Women Empowerment Cell was inaugurated in Osmania University Arts College on the eve of International Women’s Day .
Speaking as the chief guest, Prof. Beena Chintalapuri, (former) first woman Registrar of the OU and Ashoka Fellowship Awardee, urged the gathering to “be sensitive to the environment and opportunities.”
Prof. Beena shared details of her work among prisoners under Unnati, a cognitive behavioral change programme run by her. She expressed her gratitude and said she owed her success to the University for all the progress. The celebrations were themed “Empowering women for future- persistence for progress”.
