OU, University of Notre Dame concluded 5 Day Faculty Development Programme successfully

Hyderabad, Aug 10 (Maxim News): The University College of Education, Osmania University, in collaboration with the Global Center for the Development of the Whole Child, University of Notre Dame, successfully conducted a 5-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) from 5th to 9th August 2024. The program aimed to train and orient faculty members for the newly introduced course, “Whole School Approach to Social and Emotional Learning,” which will be offered in affiliated colleges for B. Ed students under Osmania University.

The program saw active participation from faculty members representing 60 colleges. Throughout the five days, participants engaged in comprehensive sessions covering the principles of Whole Child Development, the Whole School Approach, and hands-on workshops by the GCDWC Team – Dr. Nikhit D’Sa, Dr. Shalini, and Priya Kataria.

Prof. T. Mrinalini, Dr. Suneetha, and the entire faculty of the Dept of Education Team, OU have mentioned during the inauguration of the FDP that this initiative is a significant step towards equipping educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in their institutions effectively.

The success of this FDP marks a promising beginning for the introduction of the “Whole School Approach to Social and Emotional Learning” course, aiming to foster holistic development in students across Osmania University’s affiliated colleges. (Maxim News)
