Palle Pragathi Brought Good Changes—Dayakar Rao

Hyderabad, March 13 (Maxim News): Panchayat Raj Minister E Dayakar Rao informed the legislative Council here that Sarpanches are given cheque power for development of their respective villages.

During a debate on the demands for grants relating to his Ministry, he gave reply to members on the government plans for rural development. Palle Pragati program is able to bring good change in villages of clean and green environment, he said.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is determined to spend huge funds for villages development, he said. Collectors will take action against the Sarpanches and local elected representatives if they failed to discharge their duties and responsibilities, the minister warned.

Through the new panchayat raj Act reforms are started for rural development, he informed. Use funds through cheques for planned development, he told Sarpanches.
So far tractors were given to all panchayats, and 420 others will also get. We need to encourage donors for village development as dump yards, nurseries and cemeteries are essential in every village. Rs 339 crore will be offered every year to village panchayats towards development works.(Maxim News)
