Panic Created After Gas Leak in Godavarikhani

Hyderabad: Panic gripped residents of Vittal Nagar and Tilak Nagar in Godavarikhani under Ramagundam Police Commissionerate limits in the early hours of Wednesday after gaseous chemicals leaked from a plant at Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL).

There was, however, no problems created for the people on account of the leak, police said. On receiving information from the residents about the gas leakage, the police rushed to the RFCL to address the issue with the assistance of company technicians.

Preliminary reports suggest that gaseous chemicals leaked from a plant which is under construction on the premises of RFCL. “We are yet to find out the exact reasons that resulted in the gas leakage. We are in touch with the RFCL officials to prevent such incidents in future,” officials said.
