Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence Visits DRDL Hyderabad
DRDL Hyderabad | Hyderabad, Nov. 14: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence, led by its Chairman, Radha Mohan Singh, concluded a productive study visit to the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), Hyderabad, here.
The visit aimed to review the ongoing advancements in India’s defence technologies and assess future research directions in missile development.
During the visit, the Chairman officially inaugurated the newly established Missile Exhibition Centre, which showcases India’s significant achievements in missile technology and its strides towards achieving self-reliance in defence capabilities. The Centre offers a comprehensive display of various missile systems developed by DRDL and sister laboratories, including short-range, medium-range and long-range missile systems, along with cutting-edge developments in precision-guided technologies.
The Hon’ble Members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee showed keen interest in DRDL’s ongoing projects and the laboratory’s role in enhancing India’s national security through advanced technological innovations. The delegation was briefed by Secretary DD (R&D) & Chairman DRDO, DG (MSS), Director DRDL, and other senior DRDL officials on the latest developments in missile research, including work on hypersonic weapons, missile defence systems and future projects aimed at strengthening India’s strategic deterrence capabilities.

The Chairman and committee members expressed their appreciation for DRDL’s contributions to national security and the defence sector, particularly the integration of futuristic technologies into India’s military capabilities.
