He made the statement during a review meeting with Bhu Bharati and Revenue Department officials at the Secretariat on Monday. The government is restructuring the revenue system and prioritising transparency in public services.
The minister said officials had issued 12,40,366 pattadar passbooks to farmers over 34 months. Of these, 5,68,858 were distributed after the Bhu Bharati Act came into force on April 14, 2025. The remaining 6,71,508 had been issued earlier.
Pattadar Passbooks | Re-Survey to Resolve Long-Pending Land Disputes
Ponguleti said land re-surveys would help resolve disputes that had remained pending for decades. He said officials were identifying actual cultivators and granting them legally recognised land rights.
In Narayanapuram village of Kesamudram mandal, Mahabubabad district, 906 farmers received rights over more than 1,600 acres. The minister cited this as an example of resolving longstanding land ownership issues through re-survey.

In Suryapet district, 2,400 farmers across 15 villages received land titles covering 3,450 acres. Ponguleti said the passbooks would help farmers access bank loans, Rythu Bharosa and other government welfare schemes.

The minister said re-survey work was progressing rapidly in Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam districts. He directed officials to extend the process to other areas and resolve pending claims.
He instructed officials to ensure justice for farmers waiting for legal land rights. He also stressed that government policies and orders must be implemented effectively at the field level.
The review meeting also discussed a proposed food park in Jangaon district. Ponguleti held discussions on the project with the district administration, according to reports.
