PF Withdrawal Through ATM To Roll Out Via UPI By 2026
- PF withdrawal through ATM and UPI to ease access
- PF rules updated as government plans faster withdrawals
Employees may soon withdraw their Provident Fund money with ease as the government plans to allow PF withdrawal through ATM and UPI. The proposed system will let contributors access funds using ATMs and digital platforms such as PhonePe and Google Pay. The move aims to remove long waits and complex steps that employees currently face while withdrawing their PF savings. According to the information shared, this new facility is expected to bring major relief to PF contributors.
As per details given by Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the PF withdrawal through ATM and UPI facility is likely to be available by March 2026. The plan will link PF accounts directly with the banking system. Once implemented, contributors will be able to withdraw PF money in a manner similar to withdrawing cash from a regular bank account. This change seeks to simplify the process and improve access to personal savings when needed.
At present, PF withdrawal involves filling multiple forms and applying through an online portal. In some cases, employees also need to coordinate with their companies. However, the government now wants to remove these hurdles. Under the new system, PF money can be withdrawn up to 75 percent of the total PF balance. There will be no paperwork. There will also be no delays linked to application approvals or rejections. Therefore, contributors can access their money without unnecessary waiting.
Meanwhile, the government has also streamlined the withdrawal process itself. Earlier, PF withdrawals were allowed under 13 different categories. Now, all these categories have been merged into a single method. This change means contributors will no longer need to identify specific withdrawal categories before applying. As a result, claim settlement time is expected to reduce sharply.
Later, officials noted that this change fits well with existing habits. Most people already use ATMs and UPI services regularly. Therefore, even an ordinary employee can use this PF withdrawal option without difficulty. The government had already introduced key changes in PF rules in October 2025. The upcoming ATM and UPI facility is being introduced as a continuation of those reforms.
Overall, the proposed PF withdrawal through ATM system aims to give contributors faster access to their own money. Once rolled out, employees will not need to wait for days for settlement. Instead, funds will be available whenever required, offering both speed and convenience.
