Pharma company adopts African lion at Hyderabad Zoo
Hyderabad, Nov 4: The African lion “Manohar” has been adopted by Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services Ltd for a year at the Nehru Zoological Park.
A cheque for Rs. 1 lakh was given by corporate representatives on Friday.
A. Nagamani, the park’s deputy curator, received the check from company executives Ashutosh Anil Kotwal, Satyanarayan Giri, and B.L.N. Deepak for the adoption and upkeep of an African lion.
Nagamani expressed his gratitude to Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services for stepping up to adopt animals year after year. They adopted a Royal Bengal tiger last year for a full year.
Later, business leaders visited the Zoo and praised how well-maintained and clean it was.
The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) had previously announced on October 27 that it would adopt two tigers—a Royal Bengal tiger and a White tiger—from the Nehru Zoological Park as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Sumit Deb, the chairman and managing director of NMDC, along with other representatives, had handed over a check for Rs.
Additionally, the public sector organisation held a plantation drive at the zoo.
