He complied with the directive on Friday in the morning. SIT officials immediately took him into custody after he appeared at the station.

Phone Tapping Case | Supreme Court Allows Custodial Inquiry
SIT officials told the court that the accused had not cooperated with the investigation. They stated that he reset passwords linked to cloud accounts associated with an iPhone connected to the case. They further alleged that he withheld key information essential for the inquiry.
Because of these issues, the SIT requested the Supreme Court to cancel the interim protection from arrest that had been previously granted.
The bench of Justice BV Nagarathna and Justice R Mahadevan reviewed the submissions. After careful consideration, the court issued a direction for the former SIB chief to surrender unconditionally.
Meanwhile, SIT officials began initial procedures after taking him into custody. They will proceed with custodial questioning within the safeguards ordered by the bench. The phone tapping case continues to draw public and political attention, and further developments are expected as the investigation moves forward.
